Principals' Conference  w  The Spirituality of Leadership  w  9 & 10 October 2008  w  Glenburn Lodge, Muldersdrift

Fifty-seven principals of Catholic schools in the Archdioceses of Johannesburg and Pretoria gathered for a conference on The Spirituality of Leadership – Feeding the Flame. The speakers were Archbishop James Green, the Apostolic Nuncio, who stressed the importance which the Church gives to the proper education, formation and development of humankind on every level; Dr Sr Marie-Henry Keane OP who spoke on “A Spirituality of Leadership: what it means, ideologically and practically, to journey with inspired visionaries”; Fr Peter Knox SJ, who referred to the letters of St Paul in which he encourages his followers to take him as their example; Prof Engara who spoke on Servant Leadership; Steuart Pennington on key issues that affect South Africa and our future; and Dr Nicholas Rowe on the Biblical basis for Christian Leadership. Cardinal Napier sent a message, “The Harvest is Plentiful, but the Labourers are Few”.
