Founding & history
La Salle College was founded in 1966 by the De La Salle Brothers. The school was actually built by the Ursuline Sisters and was originally for girls. The Brothers bought the school and shortly afterwards added five new classrooms. A year or two later the Brothers' Residence was built. The school has catered for boys only but in 2006 became co-educational

The principal aim of La Salle College is to help each learner achieve the fullness of his God-given potential. As does each of the other 913 Lasallian schools in 85 countries on five continents, La Salle College considers it essential to assert the dignity of each human being involved in the school. Everything which engenders a school climate of warm relationships is an important step in achieving this objective.

La Salle College strives to be a living community where young people are educated and educate one another by mutual understanding and respect, acceptance of the strengths and limitations of each, growth in the spirit of service and the practice of fraternal charity.
