Founded in 1908, Dominican Convent School is the school of choice for many students, both from South Africa and from countries across our borders. We are conveniently situated close to the city as well as most major arterial routes making easy access from many different suburbs in Gauteng, railway stations, and bus terminals. Our student body is rich in diversity with people from many different cultures and socio-economic groups living and learning together in an atmosphere that encourages respect for all.
Diverse and dynamic, we move with the times. Innovative teaching methods and access to the latest technology go hand in hand with old fashioned morals and values. Our motto ‘Veritas’ means truth and we strive to be truthful in all we do. A school for boys and girls, we educate children from toddler to matric, with facilities for both day schooling, where learners participate in academic and co-curricular activities until 15h50 each day, and weekly or termly boarding.
Our matriculants first wrote the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examinations in 2008, and our 2017 matriculants achieved a 100% pass rate and university entrance rate of 98.5% - above the IEB average. For tertiary study all our passing candidates could enter degree or diploma courses
