Subject Choices:
Pre-School: Within a warm and nurturing community of devoted and motivated teachers, girls and boys between the ages of 4 and 6 years learn and develop through play and discovery. This type of learning teaches young children about communication, develops their motor skills and assists with problem-solving. We focus on developing the higher thinking skills, enhancing multi-cultural understandings and building self-esteem. Within the four pillars: Academic, Religion, Sport and Culture, we offer an exciting broad-based educational programme.
Primary School: The Foundation Phase lays the building blocks for the educational foundation of children between the ages of five and nine (Grade R to Grade 3). Through continuous assessment, parent meetings and reporting, parents are kept well informed of their children's progress. We encourage students to develop confidence and to become more independent within their school environment and life.
The Intersen Phase develops basic skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Natural and Social Sciences, Numeracy and Information Technology. Students are introduced to a broad range of concepts. Positive attitudes around learning and are promoted. In this phase there are three classes per grade and students are taught by specialist subject educators.
High School: By adopting a positive work ethic and a love for work, girls and boys are taught to take responsibility for their own academic growth and development. Academic support and enrichment programmes provide personal structure and assistance to students who require additional help with their learning, while empowering students who are committed to excelling even further.
We prepare students for the internationally recognised National Senior Certificate Examination offered by the IEB, where Marist Brothers Linmeyer has consistently achieved excellent results.
