It is our purpose to instill 21st century skills in our students and to ensure that all who enter Marist Brothers LInmeyer gates leave prepared, inspired, encouraged and ready to achieve their personal best.

Our Teachers:

The cornerstone of any successful school lies in the quality of its teachers. Our empathetic, committed and passionate teachers are subject specialists in their field. they aim to maximise the potential of each student, whilst instilling a sense of pride,, responsibility and integrity in their young lives.

Our Information Technology:

Pre-school students are taught the basics of how computers work and how to use them.  The Primary School incorporate evolving technologies, and simplifying processes and engages in interactive teaching tools eg Apple TV's and iPads. Platform based skills are taught using Google G Suite and Knowledge Network.

Students use iPads and Chromebooks from Grade 8 ad laptops for specialized subjects from Grade 10. Grades 10 to 12 have an elective subject called Computer Application Technology (CAT). Information Technology offered to Grade 10 students, gives insight into how the digital world works in all career fields.

Subject Choices:

Pre-School: Within a warm and nurturing community of devoted and motivated teachers, girls and boys  between the ages of 4 and 6 years learn and develop through play and discovery.  This type of learning teaches young children about communication, develops their motor skills and assists with problem-solving. We focus on developing the higher thinking skills, enhancing multi-cultural understandings and building self-esteem. Within the four pillars: Academic, Religion, Sport and Culture, we offer an exciting broad-based educational programme.

Primary School: The Foundation Phase lays the building blocks for the educational foundation of children between the ages of five and nine (Grade R to Grade 3). Through continuous assessment, parent meetings and reporting, parents are kept well informed of their children's progress. We encourage students to develop confidence and to become more independent within their school environment and life.

The Intersen Phase develops basic skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Natural and Social Sciences, Numeracy and Information Technology. Students are introduced to a broad range of concepts. Positive attitudes around learning and are promoted. In this phase there are three classes per grade and students are taught by specialist subject educators.

High School:  By adopting a positive work ethic and a love for work, girls and boys are taught to take responsibility for their own academic growth and development. Academic support and enrichment programmes provide personal structure and assistance to students who require additional help with their learning, while empowering students who are committed to excelling even further.

We prepare students for the internationally recognised National Senior Certificate Examination offered by the IEB, where Marist Brothers Linmeyer has consistently achieved excellent results. In addition to our unbroken 100% pass rate, most students achieve university entrance and go on to excel in their chosen careers, both locally and internationally.

Our Outreach:

An outreach programme is actively encouraged with all classes in our school "looking after" a charity of their choice. These include homes for abandoned babies, children, senior citizens and others groups who support the underprivileged in some way.

Our outreach programme ensures that each girl and boy has an opportunity to contribute to the community at large.

Our Spiritual Foundation:

Spiritual education is provided via the formal curriculum as set out the Catholic Board of Education. Students take part in daily Bible readings and morning prayers, monthly school Masses in which all attend. Opportunity for termly confession with our school chaplain is also offered for those who wish to attend.

Preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation is offered to Catholic learners in accordance with the Diocesan policy.

Our Daycare:

Our well-supervised aftercare facility is managed by highly qualified staff employed by Marist Brothers Linmeyer. Children are given an afternoon snack and juice. We provide an outdoors environment where children can play old fashioned games eg hopscotch, chat and have fun with their friends. Focused homework supervision classes ensure that children receive academic support and guidance. Our holiday programme runs from 07h15 to 17h15 and includes fun-filled outings and activities.
