St Benedict’s Preparatory School has a four class structure per grade, where the maximum class size is 25. The Preparatory school caters for boys from Grade 4 to 7. Often referred to as the ‘happy years’ by psychologists, the Preparatory school creates a place of learning, involvement and participation in an environment that is secure and where each boys is provided with every opportunity is truly reach his full potential.
Based on spiritual values and gospel principles, St Benedict’s truly offers a genuine holistic education, and with a healthy balance between academic, sport and cultural activities, there is a niche for every boy. The sports programme of the Preparatory School is a busy and vibrant one in which boys are encouraged to participate in a wide variety in sporting codes. In summer boys participate in swimming, cricket and tennis, while in winter rugby, soccer, hockey and cross country are on offer. Grade 6 and 7 boys also participate on rowing, basketball and water polo. In addition golf and athletics are on offer at the Prep School. The cultural programme is busy and vibrant with chess, public speaking, debating, choir, marimba band, pipe band and numerous club activities being offered.
