Founded in 1940, Holy Rosary School is an Independent Catholic day school for girls from Grade R – 12, with a nurturing ethos, striving for a balance between academics, religion, sports, culture and service.
Our vision is to strive for excellence in education within the context of a changing South African and global society.
While Catholicism is our foundation, all faiths are welcomed and respected.
Holy Rosary School is affiliated with the Catholic Schools’ Board (CSB), Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and our matrics write the Independent Education Board (IEB) examinations.
Central to Holy Rosary’s vision, is service above self - evident in all aspects of the school:
Our Cultural departments offer numerous exciting activities in music, drama and the arts. The school regularly participates in competitions, concerts, Eisteddfods and productions to showcase our girls’ talents.
While outstanding results are strived for in all sporting codes, we emphasise participation for health and fun purposes. The school has won Inter-Catholic Swimming and Athletics for several consecutive years and features top national and provincial representatives in all disciplines.
A strong academic foundation is essential, and excellent results are achieved by our matrics year after year. A 100% matric pass rate, with at least 95% of our girls achieving a Bachelor Degree pass, ensures that our girls leave Holy Rosary School with a solid foundation, broad and relevant education and the best possible opportunities to strive for the goals that they have set for themselves.
The school offers a state of the art audio-visual multipurpose hall.
Our sports facilities include a small gym, two hockey fields, a 25m pool, 9 netball courts, and 9 tennis courts and an athletics field.
Our four computer labs are used to equip our students with ICT skills which can be integrated into their school curriculum.
To assist the staff in the education of our students, our Academic Support Unit includes the services of an Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, School Psychologist and a Remedial Therapist.
